BASED show
An interactive musical show inspiring ākonga to develop healthy habits in breathing, alignment, sleep, exercise, and deep rest.
BASED integrates the four major learning approaches with emotional engagement through skits, dance, song parodies, exercises, and a post-show activity.
Wellness practices are tailored to individual abilities, requiring no specific equipment or facilities, making the show accessible to all.

Stand Tall & Breathe programme
An evidence based, curriculum aligned programme. Schools are visited once per week over either two or four consecutive weeks. Each session is 40 minutes. The programme is best suited to Year 3 – 8 students and can be customised for any year level.
Students are taught to improve their wellbeing via understanding the impact of gravity, biomechanics of the body, anatomy basics, and how breath can control mood and prevent tooth decay. Students will also learn how to downregulate to enhance calmness and increase concentration.
We provide two options of this programme. A two and four session programme. Our four week programme includes bookwork and individual biomarker measuring.
In the four week programme, students each have a booklet to complete which includes recording heartrate, oxygen level, breathing rate, height and emotional state. Week one focuses on increasing awareness of the body and an introduction to “take five”, the five minute routine consisting of five finger breathing and five yoga asanas (This routine has been developed specifically for this programme). Week two focuses on how your body position and breathing effects mental wellbeing. Week three discusses internal organs and the spines role in well being. Week four recaps and reinforces previous learning plus introduces group asanas.
The Sport Canterbury Tu Manawa fund has enabled the programme to run in twelve Christchurch Schools. Self-funding is also available.
Cost for the four-week programme is:
$28 + GST per student, minimum of 10 students.

Workshops
- Support staff and student wellbeing through a customised workshop.
- Workshops are designed to meet your goals and can vary from one to three hours.
- You will understand and experience how nasal breathing, correct posture and simple movements can enhance staff and student achievement.
- You will practise of breathwork, alignment awareness and movements accessible to all bodies.
- Mindfulness, breathwork and yoga resources suitable for in class use will be shared.
